TARA CONNORS

Tara Connors is a Ladner resident and glass artist working in blown and kiln-formed glass. With over 20 years of experience, she is continually inspired by the dynamic process of shaping molten material into refined, enduring forms. After training in several professional studios, she established her independent practice, Tara Blown Glass, where she produces sculptural work, functional home décor, and cremation memorial keepsakes. Grounded in strong craftsmanship and process, Tara’s work is guided by the belief that the objects we choose to live with influence our well-being. Through vibrant colour, balanced form, and thoughtful design, she creates pieces that are uplifting, visually engaging, and functionally beautiful.

Hot Glass Process:

The blown glass process involves heating glass in a furnace until it becomes molten, then gathering it onto the end of a hollow pipe. The glassblower blows air through the pipe to create a bubble inside the soft glass and shapes it by rotating, reheating, and using various tools. Once the desired form is achieved, the piece is carefully finished and placed in an annealing oven to cool slowly, which prevents cracking and strengthens the final object.
