NADINE KELLN

Nadine Kelln is a Canadian acrylic artist based in Tsawwassen, BC, working across two distinct but connected bodies of work: serene, textured seascapes and vibrant, intuitive abstracts. Using both brush and palette knife, she builds movement, energy, and emotion into every surface, drawing on a lifelong connection to the ocean and a decade of studio practice.

Her seascapes trace an emotional arc — from the calm of Caribbean waters, through a body of stormier, movement-driven seas, to her current exploration of deep, reflective nocturnes. In her abstract work, made primarily with India ink and acrylics, that same connection to the sea is channeled rather than depicted: sweeping lines, layered texture, and bold colour translate the ebb and flow of water into pure feeling, often guided by music into a flow state she describes as self-therapy. Where the seascapes offer stillness and place, the abstracts offer release, play and joy — together spanning calm and chaos, control and freedom.

Self-taught but mentored by a community of artists, Nadine has shown her work in more than 50 exhibitions and sold over 85 paintings to collectors worldwide. She is a member of the South Delta Artist Guild, exhibits at Gallery 1710, and is currently artist in residence at L’Aromas Bakehouse and Nat’s Coffeehouse.
